The purpose of this site is to provide a place where we can share strategies and ideas for the advocacy of professional equity in the field of TESOL.

Issues of professional discrimination affect all TESOL professionals, NESTs (Native English Speaking Teachers) and NNESTs (Non-native English Speaking Teachers). We need to work together to build a stronger professional environment in which the value of our teachers rests in their informed, professional abilities instead of their nationalities, accents, or appearance.

Please feel free to contact me at blancacomatesol@gmail.com with your comments, suggestions, and ideas for collaboration.

You can also participate in the conversation on Facebook by joining the open group “Equity Advocates–Working toward Professional Equity in TESOL” and suggesting strategies or sharing your thoughts.
